Magigoo 3D Printing Adhesive: Types, Characteristics, and Features
Magigoo is a Maltese brand that has taken a leading position among manufacturers of adhesive materials for 3D printing. The company's products enjoy well-deserved popularity among makers worldwide and demonstrate adhesive properties that are hard to match. The catalog features eight types of glue, each designed for specific materials and tasks. Let's take a closer look at each of them.
Magigoo Original — The Universal Adhesive
Everything you need for a reliable bond between the part and the printer platform. It ensures strong adhesion of the first layer, and once the bed cools down, the product can be removed effortlessly. Suitable for most standard filaments: ABS, PLA, PETG, HIPS, ASA, TPU. It is odorless and contains no toxic substances, making it safe for home use.
Magigoo PC — For Polycarbonate
Designed exclusively for working with polycarbonate. It guarantees reliable adhesion to the platform and easy removal of the finished part after printing. Compatible with glass and other build surfaces.
Magigoo PP — For Polypropylene
Created specifically for polypropylene filaments. Polypropylene is a material with good impact resistance and elasticity, but in the adhesive industry, it is known as one of the most difficult materials to bond. Magigoo PP solves this problem: reliable adhesion, easy application, and removal — see for yourself.
Magigoo PPGF — For Glass-Filled Polypropylene
The ideal choice for working with Glass-filled Polypropylene. Apply a thin layer to the surface, follow the recommended temperature settings, and enjoy the ease of working with a material that previously could have caused a lot of trouble.
Magigoo PA — For Polyamide and Nylon
Designed specifically for polyamide — PA12, PA66, and PA6. Filament manufacturers constantly release modified versions of nylon with improved properties, but Magigoo PA is a sufficiently universal solution and works well with any polyamide.
Magigoo Flex — For Flexible Filaments
An indispensable partner for printing TPU, TPE, and TPC. Flexible plastics often have lower adhesion levels, but Magigoo Flex acts as an intermediate layer between the build plate and the product, ensuring reliable sticking. Tested with filaments from various brands — you can be confident in the result.
Magigoo HT — For High-Temperature Plastics
If you work with filaments that require bed temperatures from 150°C, this stick should be in your arsenal. High-temperature filaments are prone to warping during printing, but HT adhesive effectively solves this problem. It is recommended to apply it to glass surfaces and strictly follow the instructions in the technical data sheet.
Magigoo Metal — For Metal Filaments
A true exclusive in the lineup. Designed specifically for the first layer of BASF Ultrafuse® 316L — a filament for producing stainless steel parts. The glue does not burn, is completely safe, and is approved for the subsequent processing stages of BASF Ultrafuse® 316L. Removal of the finished models is done by immersion in water. Recommended bed temperature is 95–105°C depending on the printer.
