Lower temperatures yield higher surface quality, though with a slightly higher part weight.

In comparison, filaments with active foaming expand directly during the extrusion process depending on the temperature—usually in the 220°C–255°C range. They are also popular among 3D makers but require a more professional approach, significant setting adjustments, and carry a higher risk of defects on the finished parts.
