Polymaker PolyDryer — Modular Filament Drying and Storage System
In FDM 3D printing, controlling filament moisture is just as important as selecting the right material or fine-tuning your printer settings. Even high-quality filaments gradually absorb moisture from the air, which can lead to inconsistent extrusion, stringing, bubbling, and reduced mechanical performance of printed parts. To address these challenges, Polymaker developed a complete solution that combines filament drying, airtight storage, and the ability to print without re-exposing the material to ambient humidity.
Unlike conventional filament dryers, the PolyDryer system is built around a modular design. At its core is the Dry Dock — an active drying module that circulates heated air evenly to efficiently remove moisture from the filament. Once drying is complete, the spool remains inside a sealed storage box, allowing it to be stored or used directly for printing without breaking the airtight environment. A single Dry Dock can be used with any number of storage boxes, making the system easy to expand as your printing needs grow.
Product Range
In addition to the complete modular ecosystem, Polymaker also offers individual moisture-control components:
- PolyDryer — a complete kit consisting of a Dry Dock and a PolyDryer Box for active drying and airtight storage;
- Dry Dock — a standalone drying module designed to work with existing PolyDryer storage boxes;
- Box and Box XL — airtight storage boxes for standard 1 kg and large-format 3 kg filament spools.
This modular approach allows users to build a system that matches their actual workflow. For some, a single PolyDryer kit is sufficient, while users handling a wide variety of materials can simply add more sealed storage boxes without purchasing a separate dryer for every spool. This makes the system particularly well suited for workshops, print farms, educational laboratories, and manufacturing facilities where multiple filament types are used simultaneously.
Expert Guidance
As an official Polymaker partner in Ukraine, LFL3D helps customers configure the PolyDryer system to match their specific requirements. Whether you work with just a few materials or are building a large-scale professional FDM 3D printing workflow, our team can recommend the right combination of components to ensure effective filament drying, reliable long-term storage, and consistently high print quality.
